Consulate General of Hungary - Eastern Roots of Hungarians - Western relations of Hungary

Szilard Teleki, Consul of Consulate General of Hungary: “Historic roots and traditions are very important for every nation’s past, present and future. It is a well-known fact that the Hungarian nation has its roots in Central and Western Asian territory. Thus, when in 2011 the Hungarian Government announced new directions of its foreign policy towards the East (so called “Opening to the East”) was also led by the intention to “rediscover” its historic roots. There is no redirection rather than a diversification of its foreign relations; Hungary is and will remain member of European Union and NATO. Its commitments to the Western values remain unchanged.” There was a screening of “The Kurultaj” documentary, produced by Turan that has told about the Kurultaj event in Hungary founded by doctor of anthropology and human biology Andras Biro. www.Kurultaj.com
